Journey with Citadyl
I’m Citadyl pronounced / Sit - uh - duhl / from Cheatham County, Tennessee, shaped by rhythm, shadow, and something older than sound itself. I’m an accomplished drummer and multi-instrumentalist, working across drums, percussion, trumpet, and keys, creating music that feels less like performance and more like ritual. My path has taken me through live stages and studio sessions, where I’ve built a reputation on precision, weight, and instinct. Something you don’t learn, something you carry.
I’m best known as the drummer for the hard rock and metal band Thousandfold, a project that pushed beyond local ground into regional, national, and international traction. With that band, I helped drive a sound rooted in power and atmosphere, where discipline met force and every note meant something.
But there was a time I stepped away. For years, I took a long sabbatical from music, silent and removed, letting that part of me sit in the dark. It wasn’t until a friend reached out and pulled me into an open jam that something lit back up. That night became a turning point. Not just a return to playing, but the beginning of finding my voice. I stepped forward as a vocalist, and in being heard, something deeper took hold. That’s where the songwriting began.
My work now comes from a melting pot of influences. Blues, rock, and metal collide with folk, jazz, pop, industrial, and Americana, shaping a sound that shifts between the raw and the refined, the earthly and the unseen. In spirit, I stand alongside storytellers like Tim Scott (Ledfoot), Shawn James, and Avi Kaplan, artists who pull truth out of darkness.
Beneath it all is something deeper. My music is rooted in personal spiritual practice and the dark arts, what I call the gospel in the dirt. It’s a sound born from dust, blood, and belief. Blues dragged through shadow. Gospel whispered through graveyard wind. Rhythm like a heartbeat echoing through the trees.
This isn’t music I just play. It’s something that lingers, something that haunts, something that calls. Come join me on this journey.
